What was your favorite gig from 2022?

โฆand how can you get more gigs like it? ;)
Happy new year!
This will be a little bit of a year end review and a best of post, but short. :)
I worked about 50 shows in 2022. More than 2021, but less than pre-pandemic times. One highlight was mixing a great adaptation of Little Women for 3 weeks on an SD10. Another was mixing Joe Biden at a missile facility. (variety!)
In terms of my own education I earned three certificates from L-Acoustics, one from Audinate, and two from Udemy for DSP related topics. In November I started an intensive Java online course and am still deep into that. Interestingly, the professional training didn't seem to move the needle much on getting gigs and attracting new clients, but that's pretty consistent with past experience. It's always been more about personal/professional satisfaction.
I taught 8 workshops. Less than the year before and previous. Demand for teaching seems to be down. Could still be due to the pandemic. It would be interesting to compare with other teachers.
I finally closed down Phase Invaders, but SubAligner now has 67 active users and is growing slowly. It's partly this growth, against the apparent decline in other areas, that has motivated me to invest more time in software development. Sound engineers love tools.
What I'm most excited about right now is learning to build things I can deploy on the web and moving SubAligner's logic processing to an online server instead of processing everything on my personal computer in MATLAB. You'll hopefully hear more from me on this soon.
I'd love to hear your updates from 2022. How was your year? What are you looking forward to in 2023?

Looking forward to more consulting, article writing and side jobs in '23. M Lawrence said he could make time in March for us to do another in person workshop for students, I hope that can happen.
@nathan (how do I tag you?)
Could you post the link to the DSP workshops in Udemy?

That sounds great!
I just sent in a support request about this. I can insert a link to your profile but that's not exactly the same thing.

@michael-reed looks like if you just type "@" and then start typing the name, it works. No space, though, I think.
