System Alignment

Hi,
Does anyone do System Alignment where your Mains & Delays are coming out of your Console into your DSP and out of your DSP into for example SSL Fusion Analog Master Processor and out of that processor into your Main and Delay Speakers? I am unsure if when doing my System Alignment, I should have the SSL Fusion Analog Master Processor on or off. i.e. to start should I measure the Mains with the SSL Fusion on or off?

Hi Tim!
The connection between your console and the output processor is the dividing line between art and science. From a quick google, it looks like the SSL Fusion Analog Master Processor is part of the art, correct? It adds "new colour". That should either be inserted across your stereo buss or between the console and the DSP, not after the DSP. You should think of this processor as an extension of your mix console, so the REF for your audio analyzer should be tapped after it. I would definitely measure it solo so you know what it's doing to the system, but as long as it is upstream of the REF, it is effectively not part of the transfer function. Any changes it is making will be ignored.
