Mapp 3d question
Started by Deleted userDeleted user
Hello! I am working on creating the room of a church I am helping with sound in Mapp 3d. The speakers they currently have are the Electro Voice SX100+, which have a coverage angle of 65 deg x 65 deg. I can not for the life of me find a speaker in Meyer's catalog with that coverage pattern. Is there a way to edit the coverage angles of existing speakers, or just enter a default speaker where I can define the coverage pattern?
Thank you!

Yeah I've run into this problem before, you might want to switch to MAPPXT the 2D one for this project. This way you can use two different speakers for the horizonal and vertical mockups that more closely match the coverage pattern for each.
Have you tried EASE Focus? They might have those speakers already in the system.

I have tried Ease Focus and they don’t have those particular speakers (or maybe I just couldn’t find them). And I can’t find a way to search by speaker coverage angle to find a similar speaker. That’s interesting about using Mapp XT and combing two speakers! I’ll look into that!

I even looked at the Electro Voice speaker software and I don’t think they are on there. On the electro voice website, it shows an EASE file for the SX series speakers. But trying to load that file into EASE I get an error message

The UPQ-D3 is 80ºx80º
That should be close enough, but if you really want to see 65º you can combine two narrow coverage speakers. For example, you can combine two 40º speakers and splay them a little bit less than unity to get 65º.
